Academic Tutoring

We offer one-to-one tutoring for nearly all K-12 academic subjects and many college level courses.  Depending upon your preference, tutors can:

• review concepts from earlier in the year or from previous years to strengthen foundation knowledge in a subject

• work on homework and other current class assignments to clarify what was covered in class and ensure that the student is keeping up with the class

• work on study skills that will help the student keep up with course material throughout the year and avoid feeling frustrated or overwhelmed by a class

• provide enrichment to help build skills and knowledge that provide a competitive advantage in school

Standardized Test Preparation

We offer individualized programs for most standardized tests, including the SAT, ACT, Virginia SOL, PSAT, SAT II, SSAT, ISEE, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and PRAXIS.  Students take an initial diagnostic test to determine current score level and to identify specific strengths and weaknesses on the test.  Tutors will review the diagnostic test analysis with the student and outline a customized plan that makes the most of the time before the test date to achieve the highest possible score.  Additional diagnostic tests will be offered to chart progress over the course of the program.
